Donald Brian Jones Jr.

Donald (Donnie) Brian Jones, Jr., 46 of Hull died peacefully October 20th surrounded by family at Kindred Hospital in Brighton, MA after a long battle with heart disease.

Donnie was born and raised in Quincy, MA where he graduated from North Quincy High School in 1987. Donnie moved to Hull in 1995 with the love of his life Stacey (McInnis) Jones. They bought their home, adopted a dog and soon started their own family. Donnie loved living in Hull, the smell of the air, the stormy seas and he could almost always be found up at the gut listening to the windmill, watching the boats and ships pass by or the planes fly overhead, listening to country music, drinking his Dunkin’ Donuts and taking in the beauty of the sunrises and sunsets.

Donnie was known for his laughter and smile. He had a charm that made everybody feel welcome, his kindness and quick wit would bring a smile to your face. Donnie was always ready to lend a helping hand no matter what was needed. Rides, repairs, snow removal, baby sitting – no task was too big or too small and yes he always did it with a smile and never looked for anything in return. Donnie loved life, especially the times he spent with family and friends. His favorite things to do were family vacations to New Hampshire, celebrate holidays, especially Christmas, Donnie undeniably made the best Santa year after year at the Annual McInnis Family Christmas Party. His jolly personality had every child BELIEVE he was the real deal. Camping with his two favorite scouts, his sons Zach and Andrew, they loved getting away and just hanging out, fishing, telling stories and cooking on a campfire.

Donnie was a Master Safe Technician for Diebold, Inc. and prior to that he was employed by Mosler, Inc. and Mancini Safe. He was a long time participant in the Men’s Quincy Softball League. He was an avid miniature train collector, a huge American History buff, an extreme Yahtzee player, and a fanatic for Boston Sports, especially his beloved New England Patriots.

Donnie had a great love for animals, adopting all species, birds, cats, and his favorite four legged furry friend – his dog Cody who will be waiting to greet him at the Rainbow Bridge.

Donnie leaves his beloved wife Stacey (McInnis) Jones, his two loving sons Zachary Laurence and Andrew Brian Jones, all of Hull. Son of the late Donald Brian Jones, Sr. and Barbara (D’Alessandro) Jones of Quincy. His brother Michael Gaudreau and his fiancé Pia Swann of Lexington, his sisters Faith Jones of Quincy, Shirley (Jones) Concepcion and her husband Henry of Taunton, Sheryl (Jones) Comperichio and her husband Thomas of N. Attleboro. Donald is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends and co-workers.

One of Donnie’s last requests was to ask more people to become organ donors, kindness pay it forward from the heart. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Jones Boy’s Educational Fund, c/o Jinnie Walsh @ Hingham Institute for Savings, 401 Nantasket Ave, Hull, MA 02045.
