Diane M. Wirtz

Wirtz, Diane M. of Whitman, died August 8, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. 

Beloved wife of Gilbert Vermette of Whitman.  Loving mother of Kelly Weikel and her husband Randy of Whitman, Christine Halpin and her husband Sean of Weymouth, George Wirtz  and his wife Adrienne of Quincy and Eric Wirtz of Boston.  Sister of John Giannino of Malden.  Cherished Mimi of Mackenzie, Tommy, Ryan, Madelyn and Jackson. Diane was the former wife of George Wirtz, Sr.

Diane grew up in Charlestown but spent most of her adult years in Quincy raising her four children.   Diane was a talented floral designer for the Flower Loft in Quincy for over 15 years. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining  during the holidays for her family and friends. Diane had a special knack for decorating making her home a warm and friendly environment.  The most important aspect of Diane’s life was her family. Her most enjoyable times were spent playing with her grandchildren.  Diane touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11AM in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
