Diane Gosselin of Weymouth, passed away suddenly at home on November 3, 2014.
A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend and educator, Diane was born, raised and educated in Quincy, but resided in Weymouth for the past twenty-three years. She attended Bridgewater State University where she received her Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degrees in Education. She began her career in the Milton Public School system as a first grade teacher and advanced to hold the position of Principal for ten years at the Tucker School. Diane then left Milton to become Principal at the Downey School in Brockton where she worked for the past thirteen years and was known for her dedication to the students and faculty. She will always be known by her family and friends for her kind heart, witty sense of humor, generosity and compassion for others. Diane and her cherished therapy dog, Emily, could be found visiting and providing comfort to the residents at the Samuel Marcus Nursing Home and the Elizabeth Catherine Rest Home every Saturday. Lovingly known by DeDe to her family and friends, she will be forever missed but not forgotten.
Diane is survived by her loving siblings Chuck Gosselin and his wife Kathy of Hanson, Patricia Glasheen and her husband Francis of Weymouth, and David Gosselin of Weymouth. Diane was predeceased by her father Charles Sr., her beloved mother and best friend Christina and her brother, Robert Gosselin. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews Scott, Elizabeth, Lisa, and Peter Gosselin, Erin O’Sullivan, Maura Glasheen, Jaclyn Dutra and several greatnieces.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
