Dennis T. Hunt

Hunt, Dennis T. of Abington, formerly of Hingham, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2023. He was 64. Dennis was a graduate of Abington High School, Class of 1977. For over 20 years, Dennis was Laborer for The Department of Conservation and Recreation, as well as a landscaper. Family was the cornerstone of Dennis’ life. His children and grandchildren were his whole world. Dennis’ love and devotion to his family was a Reflection of the love and devotion by his most loving mother and father. Dennis was a selfless and kind man, he was a friend to everyone he met. He was a dedicated platelet donor and saved over 2,000 lives through his years of donation with the Red Cross. Dennis made weekly donations to St. Jude, Childrens Hospital Boston and Tufts Childrens Hospital. A passionate New England sports fan, he enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. One of his greatest joys was to skate in the alumni Boston Bruins game last year. It was a great pleasure to coach Pembroke Youth Hockey. He never missed a sports event with any of his grandchildren. Dennis loved being outdoors and had a love of animals great and small.

Devoted and beloved husband of 40 years to Elizabeth “Letty” Hunt of Abington. Loving father of Ross Hunt and his wife Julia of Pembroke, Lisa Hunt and her husband Marc Bettcher of West Bridgewater and the late Felishia Ann Caraway-Mudd. Devoted and Cherished Grampy to Adira Liberty, Riley Hunt, Ryan Bettcher, Reese Hunt and Raegan Hunt. Also survived by brothers Douglas Hunt (Gail) of FL, David Hunt (Justine) of Abington, sister Susan Hunt of FL and many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday in St. Bridget’s Church, Abington at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
