Dennis M. Hanrahan

Dennis M. Hanrahan, a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died October 16, 2015. He was 61 years old.

At the age of 14 Dennis was injured in a diving board accident and became quadriplegic. With the love and support of his family, his quiet determination and his strong faith, Dennis was able to persevere and live a full life. He graduated from MA Hospital School in Canton and attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy. For many years he worked as a switchboard operator at Harvard Vanguard in Quincy. Dennis’ family would like to thank all the caregivers who helped him throughout the years, including all the doctors and nurses at South Shore Hospital and South Shore VNA.

Dennis was the beloved husband of 30 years to Janice (Apone) Hanrahan. He was the son of the late Ann Rita and Charles Hanrahan. Loving brother of Jane Blake, Charles F. Hanrahan, Joyce Loud, all of Weymouth, Louis Hanrahan of Hingham and the late Robert Hanrahan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at Noon prior to the Funeral Service at 1 PM in the South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main St., Hingham. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Dennis may be made to Joni and Friends Wheels for the World, PO Box 3333, Agoura Hills, CA 91376.

Walk in joy and peace with the Lord until we meet again. You fought the good fight and ran the good race. And the Lord has already said to you well done my good and faithful servant!
