Dennis G. “Jerry” Doherty

Doherty, Dennis G. “Jerry”, 75,  of S. Weymouth, formerly of Savin HIll  passed away peacefully,  December 3, 2014.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Margaret “Peggy” (Sullivan) Doherty of Weymouth.  Loving father of Dennis D. Doherty and his wife Michelle of Hanover, Colin M. Doherty and his wife Allison of Cohasset and Andrew L. Doherty and his wife Lindsay of South Boston.  Dear brother of the late Sr. Ellen Doherty, CSJ and Daniel E. Doherty.  Cherished “Grandpa” of Olivia, Jack, Kemble, Molly, Ellen and Ryan. 

Jerry was a proud graduate of  Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Class of 1960.

For 40 years,  Jerry sailed around the world on various ship, spending most of his career as Chief Engineer aboard AT&T’s cableship, C.S. Long Lines.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Waterfront Chapel, 56 Northern Ave., Boston, MA 02210 at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry’s memory to The Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, 637 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA 02135.
