Dennis C. Smith formerly of Buffalo and Poughkeepsie, died peacefully September 16th, 2006. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Mulderry) Smith and the late Mary M. Smith. Devoted father of Mark of Baltimore, MD, Stephen & wife Ann of Albany, NY, Denise Smith & husband Merle MacIsaac of Halifax, NS, Amy & husband Joseph Luciano of Fairfield, CT, Christopher & wife Amy of Little Silver, NJ, Gregory & wife Mary Beth of Baltimore, MD, and Jeremy & wife Jill of East Greenwich, RI. Adored grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM MA, Wednesday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery, Albany, NY on Thursday. Donations in memory of Mr. Smith may be made to the American Cancer Society, 18 Tremont St., Suite 700, Boston, MA 02108. Born in Buffalo, NY, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Carley Smith and Dolores Zwing Smith. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY and the University of Buffalo, where he earned his MBA. Mr. Smith was a United States Air Force Captain and served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by M&T Bank and its holding company, First Empire Corporation, for most of his professional life, rising to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Smith was a lector at the Church of the Resurrection in Hingham. He was an avid tennis player and Buffalo Bills Fan who thoroughly enjoyed summers in Lake George, NY with many loving Bach and Mulderry nieces and nephews. Kathy cared for Dennis with an unwavering commitment and dedication that was a testament to their love and the bond they shared.
