Demetrius “Jim” Pilalas

Pilalas, Demetrius (Jim) , a Certified Public Accountant and Retired New England Mutual Life Senior Vice President died January 16, 2010 at the age of 91. Jim was a 60 year resident of Hingham, 1939 Boston University graduate and a past president of the B.U. Alumni Association. During World War II he was assigned to Admiral Nimtz’s staff and retired from the Naval Reserve as Lieutenant Commander. Husband of the late Vrginia “Jean” (Siney) Pilalas. Loving father of Christopher and his wife Marti of Westwood, Katina Summers and her husband, Dr. John T. “Jack” Summers of Richmond, Virginia. Proud grandfather of Susan Pilalas Rose, Jennifer E. Pilalas, Stephen C. Pilalas, Katherine L. Pilalas, Eleni Summers and Sophia Summers and beloved great grandfather of Cynthia Mary Rose. His last two years were happily spent at the Colonial Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth. Funeral Services will be private.
