Deborah Ellen (Dolan) Rizzotti, of Canton, after a courageous battle with cancer for 13 years, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on December 29, 2017. Loving wife to Richard Robert Rizzotti for 42 years, and loving mother to her three children Annmarie Rizzotti O’Brien and husband Joseph of Canton, Major Michael Anthony Rizzotti of Kansas City, MO, and Laurie Beth Rizzotti-Chabot and husband Aaron of Canton. Proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Jack, Samantha, Alexandra, Nathan, Connor, Brayden, James, and Hailey. Dear sister to Charles Dolan of Fair Haven, Denise Lembo of Dedham, Maribeth Butman of Cohasset, Joseph L. Dolan Jr. of Florida, Deidre Lynch of Weymouth, and the late Michael Dolan; Wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beloved daughter to the late Joseph L. Dolan Sr. and Marie T. Dolan of Cohasset.
A graduate of Cohasset High School in 1966, Deborah earned her nursing degree at the former Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing in 1969 and her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Northeastern in 2001. She initially served in the Army as a devoted nurse before transitioning to the Shriner’s Burn Center and then Carney Hospital ER, where she was the charge nurse. Deborah worked in the insurance industry for many years, retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in 2013. Deborah adored spending time with her family, volunteering for the Justice Resource Institute and traveling – especially to Aruba.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. Quincy. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15am prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church on Wednesday at 10am. Burial in Mass National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you send donations to Shriner’s Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 or the Justice Resource Institute, 160 Gould St., Suite 300, Needham, MA 02494.
