Debora Baldassini

Debora “Debbi” Baldassini (Steen), 63, of Pembroke, died on August 31, 2014, peacefully at home with her family after a long illness.

Debbi was raised in Weymouth and was a graduate of Weymouth High School class of 1969.  She attended Chamberlayne Junior College and worked as a Secretary for Spencer Shoe in South Boston, Gillette and later, as legal secretary for her husband, Frank, for many years. Her great joys in life were her family, cooking and the island of St. Maarten, which she visited with her family on many occasions, and where her daughter, Danielle, was married in 2012.  Her family will attest that she was a great cook and she continued to enjoy reading recipes, cooking magazines and watching a variety of food shows on television, to the end of her days.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frank Baldassini, her daughters, Danielle Joyce and her husband Michael Joyce of San Francisco, and Alyssa Baldassini and her partner Amanda Huminkski of Brooklyn, New York, as well as her brothers, Kenneth Boardman, Bernard Steen, and Douglas Steen.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Donations in Debbi’s name may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
