Deamie T. (Lacey) Maggio

Deamie T. (Lacey) Maggio, loving wife of the late Louis A. Maggio, died peacefully surrounded by her family on March 12, 2019 in the month of her 88th birthday. 

Born and raised in Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Keating) Lacey. Deamie and Louis married on August 23, 1952 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Roxbury. Together they shared 49 loving years of marriage.

Mrs. Maggio was the beloved mother and cherished grandmother of Darlene M. Maggio and Charles-Louis “Chase” McElaney of Quincy.

Mrs. Maggio is also lovingly survived by her son, Bruce D. Maggio and his wife Patricia of Quincy, (another son, the late Louis C. Maggio) and his wife Joanne of Braintree, grandchildren Bruce Jr., Matthew, Nicole, Stephen, Mark, Amanda and Brianna Maggio and great grandmother of Cooper and Nora Maggio. Mrs. Maggio, the second youngest of her family, was preceded in death by her 8 Lacey siblings.

She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, special family and friends: Giuseppe, Ruth and Angelo Maggio, Deirdre McDougall, Brendan Morrison, Lincoln Smith, Edward McElaney, Mrs. Roberta Ruzzano, Mrs. Elena D’Attilio, Mrs. Young Szto, all of her neighbors from Phillips Street, her years long Bingo friends from St. Mary’s, Sacred Heart and the Whipple Center and all of the extended Lacey family members. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, March 18th from 4 PM through 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, March 19th (Mrs. Maggio’s 88th birthday) prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. 

Services will conclude with interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Deamie Maggio may be sent to the South Shore Health’s Emergency Department, 55 Fogg Rd., Weymouth, MA.  Blood donations are always appreciated and one in which Mrs. Maggio benefited greatly from.
