Dawn Marie (Cavanagh) Connaughton

Dawn Marie (Cavanagh) Connaughton, of Quincy, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was 60. 

Dawn was born in Boston on June 22, 1964, and was the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Mary Doris (Morrissey) Cavanagh. She was raised in Dorchester, attended local schools and graduated from Msgr. Ryan Memorial High School. Dawn continued her education at UMass Boston.

Dawn’s career was with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an accountant. She enjoyed her career and all the relationships she built throughout the years. In her spare time, Dawn enjoyed going for walks, listening to music, spending time with family and friends and laughing. Some of her favorite things were the Boston Bruins, the Red Sox and going to the beach. Some of her favorite foods were pizza and ice cream.

Dawn was a kind and happy person, which made people drawn near to her. She was the greatest wife, mother and person to ever live. Dawn will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. 

Dawn was the beloved wife of Sean T. Connaughton. The two married on September 30, 1995, at St. Peter’s Church in Dorchester. Together they shared 29 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Joseph C. Connaughton and her dog Koji, both from Quincy. Dawn was the dear sister of Kevin, Gary, Mark Cavanagh, all of Quincy, and the late Paul Cavanagh. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Divine Mercy Parish in St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock St., Quincy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Services will conclude with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
