David J. Collins formerly of Hull, originally from Quincy and Dorchester, died November 7, 2016.
The beloved husband of Paula (Gacioch) Collins of Sarasota, FL. Loving father of Christine Clark and her husband Joseph of Marshfield and David J. Collins, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Quincy. Step father of Tommaso Silvestri, Jr. of NY and Maria Silvestri of AZ. Brother of Patricia Ullberg of MD, Robert Collins of Medfield, Susan O’Day of Hyde Park and Leo Collins of PA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
David was born and raised in Dorchester and moved to Quincy where he raised his family. He was the owner and operator of Royal Print located in Dorchester for more than 50 years. Active in his community, David was a member and past President of the Kiwanis Club, past President of the Board of Trade in Dorchester and a member of the Hull Lions Club as well as a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He also served as an usher at St. Ann’s Church in Wollaston. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a dedicated father and a cherished grandfather who will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:45 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David may be made to Parkinson’s Research Foundation, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34232.
