Orchard, David H. Jr. of Dorchester, formerly of South Boston, died on July 19, 2010. He was 63. Loving husband of the late Margaret (Shea) Orchard. Beloved fiance of Maria K. Papageorg of Dorchester. Cherished son of Dorothy (Bain) Orchard of South Boston and the late David H. Orchard, Sr. Loving brother of Mary Provenzano of Quincy, Dorothy McCarthy of Dorchester and Joseph Orchard of South Boston. Devoted step-father of Kevin Shea, Joseph Shea and the late Colleen Reilly and Patricia Provenzano. Special Pa to 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. David was born in Boston and grew up in South Boston until later moving to Dorchester. He worked as a truck driver for 40 years including 30 years as an independent truck driver and 10 years at Bonny’s Express in South Boston, from where he retired in 2000. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, motorcycling and being surrounded by his fiance, friends and family. He was one of many co-founders of ACRC, a motorcyclist charity which raises money for children with AIDS to attend camps. He will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday, 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Monica’s Church at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of David may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
