David F. Koch

Koch, David F. of N. Weymouth, passed away unexpectedly, January 18, 2013. He was 58.

David grew up in N. Weymouth and lived in Scituate for many years before moving to Orange County, CA, 17 years ago. He graduated from Weymouth North High School, Class of 1972 and went on to attend Westfield State College and Suffolk University. He had a career in worldwide sales at well-known corporations such as FedEx, UPS and the USPS, most recently as Vice President. His success with FedEx led to being featured in the book “Sales Superstars.” David had a passion for the ocean and was proud to share that love for the outdoors with his daughters. David enjoyed fishing, boating, lobster diving and scuba diving. He also loved model trains and had a special place in his heart for his dogs Pudge, Peanut and Poof. He will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. 

 Beloved husband of 25 years to Vanessa Vlay-Koch of Orange County, CA. Devoted father of Devon of Orange County, Kaitlyn of Los Angeles and Michele of San Diego. Cherished son of Marilyn “Honey” and the late Frank Koch of N. Weymouth. Loving brother of Debbie Jacobsen (Kevin) of Pembroke, Kerry Dunfey (Bill) of S. Plymouth and Pam Evans (Randy) of Kingston. Son-in-law of George J. Vlay and the late Betty Jo Vlay of Los Altos, CA. Brother-in-law of Susan Bermudez (Rick) of Norco, CA and John Vlay (Lisa) of Campbell, CA. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday 9 AM in the McDonald Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.)  Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Jerome Church, N. Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial will be at a later date.

Donations in memory of David may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to Saddleback Church, 1 Saddleback Parkway, Lake Forest, CA 92630.
