Barry, David F. “Dave” of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester age 58, died February 12, 2007 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. The beloved husband of Catherine (Pienkos) Barry. Devoted father of his 3 sons Michael P., Paul J. and Joseph D. Barry all of Quincy and his late daughter Christine N. Barry. Dave was the master of his beloved dog “Boomer”. Son of the late John J. and Genevieve Barry. Brother of Robert J. Barry of Bath, ME and the late John J. Barry, Jr., Kenneth & James P. Barry. Dave is also survived by his loving Aunt Jean Barry of South Boston. Brother in law of Linda & Larry Crockett of Randolph and Walter & Brenda Pienkos of Rockland.Dave is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a great niece and several great nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4- 8 PM. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dave may be made to Quincy Medical Center,Comfort Care Unit, c/o Betty Cifone, 114 Whitwell St., Quincy, MA 02169. Vietnam Army Veteran and longtime employee of BankBoston as well as John Adams Courthouse in Boston. Dave grew up in Dorchester and moved to Quincy in June of 1979. Dave was a hard working man, who adored his wife and family. He love to play chess, swim and bowl but more recently enjoyed the new age of computers. His family describes him as a funny spunky type of a guy. He didn’t sugar coat anything, he would tell you like it was. He enjoyed the Beatles and Bob Marley, but his true love was his family. He fought a courageous battle that finally took his life on Monday February 12 surrounded by his family. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Rest in peace Dave.
