David J. Driscoll

David Driscoll, passed away peacefully with his beloved wife of 25 years, Irene, by his side, after a long and courageous battle with lung disease on November 27, 2024. He was 82. David's unbelievable sense of humor and magnetic personality made him the life of the party and the center of attention wherever he went. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of joy and generosity will live on.

Born with a natural talent for working with his hands, David was a true jack of all trades, with a particular passion for carpentry. His ability to build anything from scratch was not just a hobby but a testament to his strong work ethic, which was also evident in his professional life. David owned and operated Driscoll Oil for over 30 years, where his kind-hearted and charitable nature shone through both personally and professionally.

David's commitment to service extended beyond his business. He was a dedicated Weymouth firefighter for 34 years, a role that reflected his courage and selflessness. His devotion to helping others was matched by his deep faith as a devout Catholic, which guided him throughout his life and inspired those around him.

Married to Irene for 25 years, David was a loving husband and a steadfast partner since they first came together in 1991. His family was his pride and joy, and although he held many titles—Captain, husband, brother, father—it was the title of Papa Dave that he cherished most. His grandchildren will carry the memory of his playful spirit and boundless love with them always.

David was a very popular man, known for his kindness, friendliness, and humor. These qualities made him a beloved figure in his community and beyond. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but the stories of his kindness, laughter, and the warmth of his friendship will continue to bring smiles to faces for years to come.

David Driscoll's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and service. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the world. His spirit, forever etched in the memories of his loved ones, will continue to guide and inspire.

Loving husband of Irene (Biddy Curley) Driscoll of Weymouth. Father of Patrick Candeliere and his wife Vicky of Weymouth. Papa Dave to Enzo and Anya Candeliere. Survived by his siblings, Betty Peters of FL, and James Driscoll and his wife Kathy of Hanover. Also survived by his sister in law Dorothy Driscoll.
