David C. Dawes, Jr.

Dawes, David C., Jr. age 43 of Groton died on April 6, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. The beloved son of Nancy (Garrity) Dawes of Weymouth and the late David C. Dawes, Sr. Brother of William Dawes of Royalston, MA and Suzanne Dawes of CA. Grandson of Alice Keegan of Weymouth. Caring and loving friend of Leah Tully of Pepperell. David also leaves his devoted companion, his boxer “Roscoe”. David is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 5- 9 PM. Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham. David was a lifelong resident of Groton. He worked as a construction worker for various companies, most recently with Circle B in Lancaster, MA. David enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, he was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing. Throughout his life he raised boxers and adored his current boxer named Roscoe. His life long passion was his lake home in Goffstown, New Hampshire. He loved to spend his time at the lake enjoying the beautiful views. His family remembers his infectious laugh . When David was much younger, the family home caught on fire and David ran back in the home to rescue his “Winnie the Pooh” bear which he took care of all these years. David was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago and fought a courageous battle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. May you rest in peace David.
