David A. Roberts

David A. Roberts of Weymouth, died July 24, 2013 at the age of 60.

As a lifelong resident of Weymouth, Dave has become a legend in his community. Not only was he a source of amazing strength for his children, he became a wealth of support to so many others through his experiences of coaching soccer and mentoring those that needed help. He coached both boys and girls soccer, leading his teams to multiple state titles. He was proud of his 20 plus years of sobriety and became a rock for many others working towards their own. His keen intelligence led him to graduate from Northeastern University and become a member of Mensa. As a management consultant, Dave worked for both Price Waterhouse Coopers and Raytheon.

He was the son of the late Carl and Regina Roberts. Husband of Ellen M. (Good) Roberts. Loving father of Derek D. Roberts and his wife Coralie of San Diego, CA, Amanda M. Roberts and fiance Brian D. Bates, and Alysia L. Roberts, all of Weymouth. Cherished “Papa” to Amber and Alanna. Brother of Sherry Scafati of NH and the late Carl and Dana Roberts. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A private service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of David may be made in his name to the Town of Weymouth Scholarship Fund, c/o Town Hall, 75 Middle St., MA 02189.
