Darrylle Donahue Curran

Darrylle Donahue Curran of Norwell, MA, formerly of Braintree, Weymouth, and Sandwich, died peacefully November 2, 2024 surrounded by family. Darrylle's life was a testament to her love for her family. She nurtured her relationships with the same passion and dedication that she applied to every endeavor in life. Her laughter was infectious and her presence was a source of joy. Darrylle faced life's challenges with grace and tenacity. Her spirited nature inspired those around her to embrace each day with courage, enthusiasm, and most of all, a sense of humor.

A member of the inaugural graduating class of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, Darrylle attended LaSalle College and the Katharine Gibbs School where she honed her administrative skills to become an accomplished and a valued executive secretary. Darrylle left the workforce to become a full-time mother, but she kept her skills current through volunteer work including tenure as the chairman of the St. Francis Xavier annual Christmas Bazaar, a major fund-raiser for the church parish where she and her husband raised their five children.

Darrylle and her late husband, Ed, retired to Sandwich, Massachusetts where they enjoyed an active social life and embraced their role as doting grandparents while hosting family beach days, cookouts, holidays, and celebrations. While living in Sandwich, Darrylle once again put her administrative talents to use, organizing a community effort to create Mary’s Closet, a parish-affiliated thrift shop founded to help people in need. For many years, Darrylle and Ed wintered in Naples, Florida in a community where many of their closest New England friends also spent the winter. Darrylle and Ed were longtime members of the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club, the site of many celebrations including three family weddings.

Predeceased by her husband Edward G. Curran, Sr. Loving mother of Lisa Curran Matte and husband Kevin of South Weymouth, Nancy Curran Harrington and husband Neal of Weymouth, Susan E. Curran and husband J. Michael Hughes of Hingham, Edward G. Curran, Jr. and husband Leonard R. Lydon of Boston, and the late Daniel D. Curran and his former wife Heather Richards Curran, of Hanover. Cherished grandmother of Neal G. Harrington, Jr., Meaghan F. Pettersen, Jack Curran, Joe Curran, Reese Curran, Abbie Lydon Baumann, and Kelly Lydon; and great-grandchildren Addison, Ayla, Katya, Holden, and Sawyer.
