Darren “Arrowhead” Gobbi

Darren “Arrowhead” Gobbi, of Quincy, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 59.

Born in Boston, he was raised in Quincy and was the son of the late Spartico J. and Dorothy E. (Kidd) Gobbi. Darren attended local schools and graduated from North Quincy High School.

Darren was a Chief Security Officer and was last assigned to protecting the property of Talbot’s corporate office in Hingham. Darren enjoyed his work and the relationships he built throughout the years. In his younger years, Darren worked as a manager of Aquarius nightclub in Quincy for many years.

Family was the most important thing to Darren. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. Darren was the type of dad who would take his daughter to Walmart every weekend to buy her a new Barbie doll. He loved with all his being. Spending quality time with friends and family gave Darren most enjoyment. He loved to travel, go camping, take family vacations, bring his children to the Quincy Christmas Parade, ride motorcycles and go to the mount with his friends. Darren had a great sense of humor and loved to tell a good story. Darren also enjoyed reading scary stories and horror novels.

An animal lover, Darren developed the hobby of showing his Mastiff Pilgrim in previous events. In his spare time, Darren also enjoyed watching his favorite team the Boston Bruins. Darren loved all sports, but hockey was his favorite.

Darren had an innate strength about him. Physically, mentally and spiritually, Darren was a pillar of strength to the people in his life. Even through the most difficult situations, Darren never gave up and was always someone that others would go to for help. When asking his daughter’s what type of person their father was, they responded with happy, kind, good hearted, loving and selfless. Darren’s life lessons and example are part of his legacy that continue through his family. He will be missed by all the lives he touched.

Darren was the devoted father of Christina M. Smith and her fiancé Jacob Cardiff of Plymouth, Sarah R. Gobbi and her partner Albert Smith IV of Bridgewater and Juliana R. Gobbi of Brockton. He was the loving grandfather of David Smith III of Plymouth, Albert Smith V of Bridgewater and Jace Darren Cardiff of Plymouth. Darren was the dear brother of Sharron E.
