Donovan Sr., Danny G. “TAZ” of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2013 at the age of 57.

Best friend and beloved husband for 26 years of Lisa A. (La Vie) Donovan. Loving and devoted father of Kelli A. Donovan and Danny G. Donovan, Jr. of Dorchester. Cherished Papa of Jake. Loving son of Viola J. Donovan of Wollaston and the late William Donovan. Brother of the late Cheryl Grigas, the late William M. “Mike” Donovan, Mary L. Gethin and her husband Michael T. Gethin of Wollaston and Mark Donovan of Plymouth. Son-in-law of Theresa M. La Vie and the late Harold J. La Vie of Neponset. Danny is also survived by several nieces and nephews, friends and many others who viewed Danny as a father figure.

Danny was a Vietnam-era Navy veteran. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and coaching baseball. He was a member of No Love Crew MC of Boston, MA and manager and head coach of the 2004 Massachusetts State Champion Boston Titans Baseball Club. He was extremely proud that both of his children went on to graduate from college. 

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy, at Danny’s request in casual attire.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 12 Noon, family and friends will gather at 11am prior to the service.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to “Boston’s Wounded Veterans,” Italian American Post 6, Attn: Vet Ride, 60 Paris St, East Boston, MA 02128 or the charity of your choice.
