Danielle Wassell

Wassell, Danielle M. of Needham, formerly of Hingham, died peacefully on August 2, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Danielle was surrounded by the family she cherished, she was 46 years old. The beloved daughter of Margaret T. (McGeoghegan) Wassell of Needham and the late Albert P. Wassell. Cherished sister of Deirdre Wassell of Millis. Loving aunt of Adam Shifrin of Portland, OR and Kim Shifrin of Redhook, NY. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Danielle graduated from Hingham High School and furthered her education at Boston University and later received her Masters Degrees from Northeastern University and Framingham State. She taught second grade in the Watertown Public Schools, she took great pride in educating children and she excelled at it. Danielle enjoyed photography and art. She was an avid Boston sports fan. The essence of her life was her family, friends and her love for teaching. She will be remembered as a sweet, special young woman, who was devoted to her family and to her career, she loved teaching. She will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have had her in their lives. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North St. Hingham. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, it was Danielle’s wish to have donations made to Colorectal Cancer Coalition, www.FightColorectalCancer.org.
