Danielle E. Struzziery

A motor vehicle accident in Florida on Thursday evening claimed the life of Danielle E. Struzziery of Hull, MA. Danielle was 18 years old and had graduated this past June from Hull High School; she had just started her second semester at Florida State University. Danielle was the beloved daughter of Bill and Dee Dee Struzziery and she also leaves her 3 younger sisters, Nicole, 16, Marissa, 14, and Janine 13. The caption that Danielle selected for her senior yearbook was “nun sine labore” – nothing without effort. She graduated in the top 10 of her class and garnered many honors and awards at her graduation; she also served as Vice President of the National Honor Society. Danielle excelled in three varsity sports as well – soccer, basketball and softball. In her senior year she was named captain in each of these sports. She played all sports with a fierce determination, but softball was her special sport – she had a pitch that baffled her opponents and had numerous shutouts to her credit. Whether it was scholarship or sports, Danielle knew that to excel she needed to give all of her effort.Danielle was a special young woman who touched so many live is so many ways. She was always the big sister whom Nikki, Marissa, and Janine could turn to. With her closest friends, Caitlin, Molly, Joscelyn, and Haley, they became known as the “Fab Five” at Hull High – sharing, laughing, studying, playing. The high school kids in all the grades knew her as “Struzz”; they all knew that they could turn to Danielle, for coaching or friendship or whatever they needed.Danielle frequently visited with her grandmother ”Nonnie” Struzziery in Hull, sitting and talking with her about school or her most recent game. She will be sorely missed by her 19 cousins and 18 aunts and uncles.Danielle had several favorite quotes. Perhaps the most special one is “Don’t cry because it is over; smile because it happened.”A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, 208 Samoset Avenue in Hull. Burial will be in Hull Village Cemetery.Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Donations in memory of Danielle may be made to the Danielle E. Struzziery Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Hingham Institution for Savings, 401 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045.
