Daniel J. Powers, Sr.

Daniel J. Powers, Sr.  of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died March 14, 2016, he was 65. The beloved father of  Rita Powers of Randolph, Daniel J. Powers,Jr and his wife Shannon of Weymouth, Tina Castiello of Everett and Tommy Mackie of Essex. Brother of Edmund T. Powers, Jr. of South Boston, Sandy Powers Rosati and Michael of Lynn, Diane McDonough of Maine, Denise Giorlando of Winthrop, Lisa Palogaris and Gina Richards both of NH and the late Thomas Powers and Aileen Stone. Devoted Papa to Savannah, DJ and Laci Powers, Jason Castiello, Savannah, Elley & Braden and uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

Daniel grew up in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the Post Commander of the Morrissette Post. He worked for Purolator Courier Service, D&S Delivery, and drove a taxi cab in MA, NH & NY. For all who knew him well, he had the gift to gab and loved telling jokes.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-5 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
