Daniel J. Kelly, Jr.

Kelly, Daniel J. Jr. of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, July 15, 2009. The beloved husband of Frances G. (Shields) Kelly. Loving father of Daniel J. Kelly, III and his wife Carole of Leominster, Thomas M. Kelly of Quincy and Mary Frances and her husband Edward Amrock, Jr. of Rockland. Son of the late Daniel & Evelyn (Tennihan) Kelly. Brother of the late Evelyn Hennessy and Jeanne Flanagan. Cherished grandfather of Tanya, Timothy, Nicole and Thomas Kelly and many nieces & nephews. Daniel worked as a carpenter for local #33 – Boston and retired back in 1978 after 30 years. He then began working for Polaroid where he continued working for an additional 10 years, finally retiring back in 1988. He was an avid Boston sports fan. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing cards every Monday evening . A member of the John P. McKeon Post in Dorchester and former member of St. Brendan’s Holy Name Society, Daniel will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Saturday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea St. Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4- 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Daniel may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, 637 Cambridge St. Brighton, MA 02135.
