Hagerty, Daniel of Quincy, age 75, Retired Boston Police Dept., after a long struggle with Parkinson’s, Dan went home to be with The Lord, Jesus and the Holy Spirit on April 11, 2017.
Dan leaves his wife of 50 years, Marney, and his daughters, Lisa of Quincy, Rhonda and her husband Jay Colleton of Quincy, and Karla and her husband John Williamson of Sedro-Woolley, WA, his adored grandchildren, Bridget and Shane Colleton, Lydia, Evelyn, Faith and Joseph Williamson. Also survived by brothers John Hagerty of Quincy, David Hagerty of Billerica, and sister Ann Leurini of Bridgewater, nieces, nephews and best friend Joe Donovan of Quincy.
Dan was a proud retired Boston Police officer, with 33 years of service, with many of those as a member of the Boston Police Bomb Squad. He received The Schroeder Bros. Medal of Honor in the course of his service. He will be remembered for his kindness, his wit and loving concern for family and friends. Dan had many interests, he especially enjoyed simple pleasures like reading, cooking, and a good game of cribbage. He loved traveling to WA State to visit family. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to have known him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date.
