Daniel Desmond Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Desmond announces his passing on Friday, September 21, 2018, one week before his 67th birthday. Dan passed away at home surrounded by the immense love of his wife and children.

A devoted husband, Dan leaves behind his wife of 38 years Mary (Stephens). Dan was also the proud father of his three children, Daniel, Stefane, and Christina. He will be missed by his surviving siblings Dennis Desmond of Arizona, Deborah Desmond of West Roxbury, Donna Desmond of West Roxbury, David Desmond, and wife Valerie of Norton. He also leaves his brothers in law Thomas Stephens of South Boston and James Stephens of South Boston. Dan is also survived by his niece, nephews, and many close friends.

Dan retired after thirty years as a manager from Verizon Communications in 2001 and resumed his career at One Communications. Dan was a gentleman who loved and cared for his wife and family and relished his time spent with them. He will be remembered for his generous ways, wicked grin, and infectious laugh. Our hearts are broken. He will never be forgotten and forever will be missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
