Daniel D. Curran of Weymouth, formerly of Rockland, and Hanover, died unexpectedly February 28, 2024.
A master electrician and owner of Curran Electric, Dan graduated from Weymouth South High School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology. Dan loved the ocean and the Lakes in Maine. He was an avid fisherman. He loved creative cooking, four wheeling, yard work, reading and a good debate. He could always make you laugh and put a smile on your face with his quick wit and sarcastic humor.
Dan was the proud and loving father of Jack Curran of Hanover, Joe Curran of Hanover, and Reese Curran of Hanover. In addition to his children, Dan is survived by his former wife, Heather Richards Curran of Hanover, his mother, Darrylle Donahue Curran, of Norwell, his sisters Lisa Curran Matte and husband Kevin of South Weymouth, Nancy Curran Harrington and husband Neal G. Harrington, Sr. of Weymouth, Susan E. Curran and husband J. Michael Hughes of Hingham, and Edward G. Curran, Jr. and husband Leonard R. Lydon of Boston. He is predeceased by his father, Edward G. Curran, Sr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Hanover at 9 AM. Donations in memory of Dan may be made to the Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children (to be directed to their Springfield location), 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
