D. Marion Alibrandi

Domenica Marion Alibrandi  passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021. Marion was 99 years old.

Born in South Boston to Antonio and Antonina Alibrandi; also raised in Hyde Park and Brockton. For the past 36 years, she lived in Weymouth. Marion is predeceased by her siblings; Pietro Alibrandi, Frances Puleo and Joseph Alibrandi and also her niece, Mary Mastrocola.  She is survived by her sister-in-laws: Catherine Alibrandi and Celia Alibrandi along with her eight nieces and nephews.

Marion worked at Abington Mutual Bank all of her adult life until retirement. She was an avid and excellent candlepin bowler and was in many leagues; which she would bowl two to three times a week. Becoming a professional bowler, she would travel throughout New England in many tournaments. She was an outstanding cook and loved to make wonderful dishes for others. Her all-time favorites by all was her pizza and lasagna.  Marion was an excellent baker; her lemon meringue pie, pineapple upside down cake and cupcakes filled with whipped cream and strawberries were a few of the favorites that all enjoyed. She was excellent in knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching. Marion made many sweaters and afghans for others and for herself. For all of her nieces and nephews’ children, she made pillows that had hand-made cross-stitching images of each child’s favorite animal. Never being married, her siblings and their children were her pride and joy. Marion had a passion for always doing for others and never expecting anything in return. She was adored and respected by her neighbors on Thayer Ave in Weymouth. Marion would sit in her driveway, just enjoying being outside, and one by one neighbors would pull up a chair and sit a while with her; chatting and keeping her company.
