Colonel Chester R. Gilmore, Jr.

Colonel Chester R. Gilmore, Jr., USAF retired, passed away at 2:06 AM on October 28, 2015.

He was the husband of the late Betty Folsom Gilmore. Colonel Gilmore was born in Medway, MA and attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics prior to enlisting in the Army Air Corp during WWII. After the war the Gilmore’s settled in Holliston, MA where he worked in his father’s business for several years prior to reentering the military service. He retired in 1977 after serving for 35 years. Living in Falmouth at the time he was active in real estate sales for several years. After the loss of his wife he moved to the Linden Ponds Retirement Community in Hingham, MA in 2008.

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Moscardelli, his sons Steve Gilmore and his wife Michelle and Brad Gilmore; 5 grandchildren, Dana, Chris, Ariana, Alex and Wyatt.

There will be a private burial at the Bourne National Cemetery.
