White, Clarence P. “Carney” of Hull,October 23, 2006. The beloved husband of 65 years to Ruth (Weydner) White and his trusted companion “Mike” his cat. Loving father of Ruth Malinowski and her husband Robert of Stow, MA, Robert C White and his fiance Linda Harrison of Scituate, Donald E. White and his wife Debbie of Carver, Howard W. White and his wife Jeannie of North Benton, ME and Robin White and her life partner Andrea Boff of Sonoma, CA. Carney is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 7 granddogs. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Friday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Hull at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4- 8 PM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. Donations in memory of Mr. White may be made to Old Colony Hospice 1 Credit Union Way Randolph, MA 02368 W.W.II Navy veteran, retired assistant superintendent of Hull highway dept. Clarence P. White “Carney” died on October 23,2006 surrounded by his family at Quincy Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Hull Hospital in 1917. He served his country in W.W.II -United States Navy, which he signed up 3 days after Pearl Harbor and served for 4 1/2 years. Mr. White was a 4X Sprint car champion, inducted to the Racecar Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA. An avid racecar driver, hydroplane racer, a passionate hunter and a dedicated fisherman. He graduated from Hingham High School and also played football for Hingham High School. If anyone ever wanted to know anything about the history of Hull – Carney White was the man to ask! He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his practical jokes. He loved his wife and kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also attracted children from everywhere with his songs, jokes and amazing stories. He lived his entire life in Hull and lived with with a capitol “L” – full of adventures from race car driving to testing aircraft for the navy, he survived 3 plane crashes while serving in W.W.II, he could fix just about everything with a motor and he could catch any fish. Mr. White had a deep respect for wildlife and hunting. No matter where he went from Maine to Florida, people knew him. He had many many friends. He was a fun-loving, cantankerous prankster.Carney was the assistant superintendent for the Hull Highway department for 32 years.
