Fahy, Clare E. (Byrnes) of Quincy, died September 6, 2009 at the age of 87. Wife of the late Francis J. Fahy. Loving mother of Richard C. of Boston, Matthew T. of Austin, TX, Mary K. Fahy-O’Neill and her husband Michael of Squantum, Stephen T. of Quincy, Peter N. and his wife Cheryl of Sacramento, CA, and Kathleen V. Serrano and her husband William, Sr. of Wrightwood, CA. Devoted grandmother of William, Anthony J.-F., Patrick J.-F., Erin A., Victoria L. and her great granddaughter Taylor N.. Sister of Marie Deely of Quincy, Rev. John J. Byrnes of Philadelphi, PA, Susan Strazzulla and her husband Frank of Squantum, Paul Byrnes and his wife Marilyn of Palm Desert, CA and the late Thomas N. Byrnes. Loving sister-in-law of Margaret Smalley of Boston and Barbara Byrnes of Hingham. Beloved friend of Doris Martell of Lowell and dear friend of Claire Carroll, Connie Cahill, and Janet Leonardo. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Clare enjoyed reading, poetry, traveling, and swimming in the ocean. Her life was about her family and her faith. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12: 45 PM.
