Claire M. Kirsch

Claire M. (Phelan) Kirsch, of Hingham, originally from Neponset, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the age of 87. 

After raising her children, Claire worked  as a secretary for many years before finally retiring from South School in Hingham.  The loving wife of the late William “Bill” Kirsch. Claire was the mother of Bill Kirsch and his wife Sandy Donnellan of Marshfield, Sue McHugh and her husband Frank of Braintree, and Lisa Jensen and her husband Chris of Morgan Hill, CA.  She was the doting grandmother of Ryan, Alex, Matt, Joe, Gilly, Mike and Carly.  Sister of Jean Phelan of Quincy and the late Eleanor Lawrence. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Claire was an active member of St. Paul Parish and school where she served as a Eurcharistic Minister for many years and in the PTO.  She was involved in the Crow Point Sailing Club; spending many a summer day swimming at North Beach with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed bowling leagues at the Community Center as well as South Shore Country Club.  She had great devotion to her faith and her family. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (Off Central St.) Hingham on Monday  4-8pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church Tuesday at 10am. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
