Claire Irene Fasci, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2012 at the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth after a lengthy illness. Claire was a kind, thoughtful woman, always willing to help those in need. She was the first person that family, friends and neighbors called in an emergency. Even in failing health, she still maintained an aura of kindness and good humor to all. Claire was born in Andover, raised in Quincy and Weymouth and lived in Houghs Neck for over 60 years. She was the loving Mother of Joseph P. Fasci of Quincy, Rev. Kathryn M. Fasci of Granbury, TX, and Rosemary J. Fasci and her husband Mark Becker of Port Byron, NY. Dear “Narnie” of Jessica R. Ellis and her husband Randy of Granbury, TX. Christine A. Fasci of Granbury TX., Lance Corporal Joseph D. Fasci USMC of Port Byron, NY. Great Grandmother of Tyler C. Ellis and Thomas Jay Wilson of Granbury, TX. She was aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Claire was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Catherine B. LaPlume. Sister of John J. LaPlume and wife Mary of Weymouth, Jeanne A. Silva of Quincy, Norman R. LaPlume and his wife Margie of Braintree, Kathleen A. Pearson and her husband Kenneth of Weymouth, Sister of the late: Mary A. Costello, Phillip E. LaPlume, Alan H. LaPlume, Ronald D. LaPlume and Kenneth J. LaPlume all of Quincy. Claire worked at Dugan’s Mfg, The Bargain Center, Quincy Food Services and volunteered for Meals on Wheels at the Manet Community Health Center. Claire was ever thankful for her great friends Dotti Jacobs, Barbara Robertson, Betty O’Connor, the late Jean Ball, Alice Fitzsimmons, as well as the Finneran, Dabrowski, Ruska, Trubiano, Kirby, Iacovino, Souza, and Gullizzia families. Her family and friends will sorely miss her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Claire’s Life will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, followed by burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Claire may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Interfaith Social Services, 105 Adams Street, Quincy MA 02169.
