Claire F. Larocco

Claire F. (Gaughan) LaRocco, aged 95, passed away August 17, 2022 comfortably in her sleep after a short illness.

Claire was born in Boston on November 7, 1926 to the late John & H. Bernice (Shaw) Gaughan. She graduated from Weymouth High School. Once her children were in school Claire worked for 26 years as a cafeteria worker/manager at the old East Junior High School, later Abigail Adams. She was very dedicated and involved with the MS Society for 30+ years after Dad was diagnosed. Mom cared for Dad with the utmost love for over 30 years until his passing on September 10, 2001. Claire was a longtime elections poll worker for Weymouth and was VERY active at the Weymouth Senior Center where she made many lifelong, loving friends. Her image is proudly displayed on one of the Senior Center vans. Mom was a loving member of “The Club Ladies” with whom she is now reunited. Claire is the last of her generational LaRocco line which consisted of 11 in laws and their spouses. Claire was the 13th Great Granddaughter of Pilgrim William (Susanna) White, a signer of the Mayflower Compact. Her 12th Great Grandfather, Peregrine White, was the first male child born in the Plymouth Colony.

There is not enough paper in the world to describe our families and friends love for Claire. Buzz, as Dad called her, was a very classy, sociable lady. If you knew her, you loved her. She was warm, loving, honest, consistent, nice, comforting, supportive, very forward thinking, and always positive. Claire loved music and to dance, was the Queen of sending cards, loved the beach, and was an awesome cook – especially her pistachio and honeymoon pudding cakes. Claire was everyone’s friend. Her brilliant light will shine on us all forever.

Beloved wife of the late John R. LaRocco. Cherished and adored mother of Denise Eacobacci and her husband Barry Kravitz, Nina LaRocco and her husband Bob Stewart, and John “Greg” and his wife Betsy LaRocco. Mimi of Michael (Kathryn), Brian (Danielle) and John (Danielle) Eacobacci, as well as Karra, Keryn, and Justin (Kelsey) LaRocco. Great Mimi of Mya, Jackson, Carolyn, Leland, Josephine Claire, Stephen, Eva, Everlee, Francesca, Mattea, Lincoln, and Theodore.  Predeceased by her sister Dorothy (James) DiGravio and John “Jack” Gaughan. Survived by her brother Roger (Mina) Gaughan as well four generations of nieces and nephews whom she truly loved and cherished. Claire was also an important part of Laurie, Paul, Brennan and Meghan Dutton’s lives. She also loved all of our furbabies.
