Claire E. Bouton of N. Quincy, died peacefully on November 28, 2012, at the age of 88 after a long period of declining health. Beloved wife of the late Elden W. Bouton. Cherished mother of Paul E. Bouton and his wife Gail of Sharon, Rev. Thomas F. Bouton of St. Ambrose Parish, Dorchester, Jean M. Bouton of Quincy, and the late Robert H. Bouton. Loving grandmother of Martha Bouton of Sharon and Emily Bouton of Brighton. Daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Theall, Claire was born and educated in Boston. She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s School in Charlestown, Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton, and Simmons College in Boston. A devout Catholic, Claire was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in N. Quincy where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a faithful member of the Third Order of Mary of St. Clare’s Church in Braintree. Throughout her life and as the devoted mother of Robert, her son who had Down syndrome, Claire was involved significantly in the support and advancement of children and adults with developmental disabilities. She enjoyed traveling and spending summers in Marshfield with her family. Claire was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Her daily example to family and friends exemplified the values of faith, courage, and grace. Claire will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. Funeral Monday at 10:45 from Keohane Funeral Home prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 11:30 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Claire may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 385 Hancock St., N. Quincy, MA 02071 or Boston Catholic TV, P.O. Box 9196, 34 Chestnut Street, Watertown, MA 02471.
