Claire Ann (Donahue) McLaughlin of Rockland, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2022. She was 81 years old.
Claire was born in Boston on January 8, 1941 and raised in Dorchester. She was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Eleanor (McDonald) Donahue and had 16 brothers and sisters. She married Edward in 1965, and they raised their family of four children in Weymouth. They would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on their next anniversary. Claire worked very hard as a baker at several different local places over the years. Claire’s greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family and friends. She was known by everyone to have the patience of a saint, quick wit and great sense of humor, and to radiate kindness and compassion for all. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Beloved wife of Edward McLaughlin of Rockland, devoted mother of Karen Cristoforo of Rockland and her significant other Jeff Still of Weymouth, Linda Boudreault and her husband Glen of Weymouth, Nancy McKinnon and her husband Michael of Pembroke and the late Edward McLaughlin Jr. She was a loving sister to Geraldine Spencer of N.H., Jean McDermott of Quincy, Theresa Leoncello of Quincy, Patty Boyce of Quincy, Diane Freda of Quincy, Marion Donahue of Boston, Janice Niak of Sharon, Dennis Donahue of Franklin, John Donahue of Weymouth and the late Eleanor Hayes, and Freddie, Jerry, David, Billy, Jimmy, and Eddie Donahue. Doting “Gramma” or “GiGi Gabum” to 9 grandchildren; Kaitlin, Nicholas, Samantha, John, Lindsay, Michael, Matthew, Lauren and Taylor, and 5 Great grandchildren; Skylar, Ava, Lincoln, Ariella, and Noelle.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday November 2nd from 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Thursday November 3rd prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s of the Our Lady of the Angels Parish, in Hanover at 10 AM. Burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
