Claire A. (Lydon) Carmody, age 87, of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully on September 1, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of the late Edward R. Carmody of Brookline and devoted mother of Edward R. Carmody Jr. of Quincy, Robert Carmody and his wife Christine of Canton, and Margaret (Peggy) Augustine and her husband Brian Gordon of Quincy. Loving grandmother of Erin O’Neill and her husband Mark of Quincy; Michael Edward Augustine of Quincy; and Kate and Robert Carmody of Canton. Loving great-grandmother of Meredith O’Neill. Sister of the late Alice Mahoney, James Lydon and John (Jake) Lydon. Survived by her sisters Mary Logan of Quincy, Margaret Kelly of Milton, Barbara Ridge of Quincy, and her brother William Lydon of Quincy, and many nieces and nephews. Claire was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed socializing and spending time with those most dear to her.
Claire loved traveling the world with her husband and her many trips to Foxwoods with her girlfriends. She was especially fond of hosting friends and family on holidays and other special occasions, playing bingo, and supporting St. Mary Church and School over the years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 10:30-11:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 12 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
