Christiane R. Maguire

Christiane Rosvita Maguire, age 64, passed away peacefully 27 December 2022 after a long fight with Multiple Sclerosis. Beloved mother to Matthew Keegan Maguire and Danielle Andriana Maguire.  

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, to German immigrants, Chris left at the age of 7 to live with her grandparents in Berlin. After a year, she returned to Canada and soon relocated to California with her mother and sister. During this period, Chris moved throughout California often, taking on many responsibilities that forced her to grow up quickly. She graduated Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, CA. She worked at Siemens and other various jobs, but her most memorable would be as a store manager at Blockbuster Video.

Those who know Chris, know how much she loved being a mother. Whether she was sewing costumes and dresses, banners for soccer games, or baking up a storm for birthdays and Christmas – she always found time to be there and show her love. This didn’t just apply to her children, she was always willing to help out friends and family. 

Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2003, Chris tried to make the most of the life she had left. She and her two children set off on a two week cross country road trip in 2013. Exploring many landmarks and restaurants in the southern half of the United States.  After settling in Quincy, MA, her daughter helped her to adventure throughout the northeast including the Newport Mansions and Salem, MA and its history of witch trials. In 2018, the adventures continued, for her 60th birthday, her two children took her to Europe. She got to visit her old school and neighborhood in Berlin, Neuschwanstein Castle in Munich, as well as the cities of London, Milan, and Florence for the first time.

A private farewell was held 28 December 2022 at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in Weymouth, MA with her children.
