Kirby, Chester T. of Quincy, passed away April 28, 2011. Beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Lavers) Kirby of Quincy. Loving father of Chester T. Kirby Jr. of and his wife Mary Ellen of Marshfield, Anne-Marie Bridges and her husband John of West Yarmouth, Noreen F. Kirby and her partner Judy Nevins of Easton and Timothy P. Kirby of Quincy. Brother of Eileen Walsh of Weymouth, Daniel Kirby of FL and the late James Kirby. Chester is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the uncle to many nieces and nephews. Chester was born in Boston and grew up in Roxbury. He was graduate of Wentworth Institute in Boston. Chester worked as a Construction Inspector for Boston Edison for 40 years before retiring in 1988. After retiring Chester worked as a self employed electrician. He was a member of the Quincy Lodge of Elks, the Nickerson Post in Squantum and a member of the Commodore’s Club of America ; he was past Commodore of Old Colony Yacht Club in Dorchester. Chester had an easy going personality and enjoyed spending time with his family and boating. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. WWII Navy Veteran. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 1-3PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 3 PM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Cremation will follow.
