Charles W. Mosel

Mosel, Charles W. “Charlie” of Weymouth, died September 8, 2017.

Charlie grew up in Boston and later became a resident of Weymouth. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School. After high school Charlie joined the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Charlie was a Boston Police Officer for over 30 years, retiring as a detective in 2000. Charlie enjoyed collecting military patches and metals, and had a fascination with military history.

Loving husband of the late Shirley A. (Simpson) Mosel. Beloved father of Janet Necarsulmer of AZ, Bob Matthews and his wife Leslie, Bill Mosel, Carol Roberts, and Karen Mosel, all of Weymouth. Cherished brother of Donald Mosel of Weymouth. Proud “Papa” of Eric, Jeff, Amanda, Derek, Bobby, Lindsay, Sarah and Peter and also the great grandfather to many. Additionally, Charlie is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Joan Balas, his son Frederick Matthews and his brother Sandy Mosel.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
