Charles W. “Charley” Clifford

Charles W. (Charley) Clifford of Weymouth, passed away May 24, 2022.

Beloved husband of Linda Clifford of Weymouth. Devoted father to Dawn McNair and Doug Moody of Florida, and the late Karen Clifford. Loving brother of Susan Yiannousas, and the late Doris Murphy, Edward Clifford, Ellerine Clifford, and Michael Felton. Cherished Grandpa to Erik, Kyle, Joshua, the late Jacob and 2 great grandchildren. Charley is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Charley was born in Boston and then enlisted in the Army where he served as a weapons instructor training Vietnamese troops. He was a proud union man who worked briefly with the Painters Union before starting as an Ironworker with Local #7 in Boston where he worked until retirement. Charley was an avid sailor and enjoyed sailing on the Cape Cod Cat boat that he helped build and was a life time member of Old Colony Yacht Club in Dorchester. One of his biggest passions was motorcycle riding. Charley was a member of the Roadrunners Motorcycle Club in Dorchester and later started the Ironman Motorcycle Club out of Local #7, where he served as President and raised $30,000 for Dana Farber through their motorcycle runs. He was a member of the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club. Charley was also a collector of Native American flutes.  At the age of 65 Charley got his Black Belt in Kempo Karate and was also a certified Judge for the Official World Martial Arts Federation. Charley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 11-1 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Charley’s family requests that guests wear masks.
