Charles Vafides

Vafides, Charles of Weymouth, died on March 29, 2011. The beloved son of the late Christos & Irene (Deliandes) Vafides. Brother of John Vafides of Hull, Henry “Harry” Vafides of NH and Robert “Bill” Vafides of Hingham and the late Theophilus, Dorothy “Electra”, Alexander, Nicholas and Helen Vafides. Charles is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A proud W.W. II Navy veteran. After his military service, Charles served in the Merchant Marines for several years and served on the Antietam Aircraft Carrier. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and car repairing. Charles was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time with his brothers. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday morning from 10-11am in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 11am in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull.
