KOGAN, Charles L. of Hingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Isadore and Susan(Goldberg) Kogan. He was educated at Syracuse University and earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Washington. Charles was a WWII Army Veteran who served in the 10th Mountain Division and was awarded the Bronze Star for his acts of heroism and bravery in service to his country. He practiced as a clinical psychologist for four decades and taught graduate students at Teacher’s College, Columbia University.
Charles was the beloved husband of Beatrice (Aine) Kogan of Hingham, MA and devoted father of Kathryn Kogan of Hingham. Brother of the late William Kogan, Ph.D., and beloved cousin of the late Edward (Tom) Kane, M.D., of Claremont, NH. Charles was an avid skier, naturalist, and sailor who touched the lives of many.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the graveside service with military honors at Hingham Cemetery on Friday, September 21st at 11:00AM. Donations may be made in Charles’ honor to The Southern Poverty Law Center and The Alzheimer’s Association of New England.
