Charles J. Kennedy

Kennedy, Charles J.  “Charlie” of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died March 11, 2014.  

Beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Carlson) Kennedy.  Loving father of Maureen Lynch and her late husband Robert,   John Kennedy and his partner  Colin Jackson; all of Quincy and the late Charles “Chucky” Kennedy. Good friend of Cathy Willey and her late husband Francis Willey.  Charlie also leaves behind his buddy “Jack”.  

Charlie was born and raised in South Boston where he lived most of his life until moving to Quincy seven years ago.  He was a mechanic at Greyhound Bus lines for 25 years before retiring in 1990.  Charlie and his late wife Barbara were inseparable before her death in October of 2013, he was absolutely lost without her over these past months.  Charlie loved spending time with family and friends who were the cornerstone of his life. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and traveling. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Vincent dePaul Church, 363 E Street, South Boston, MA  02127 at 11 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
