Charles J. “Charlie” Raffa of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, passed away on October 10, 2017 at Marina Bay Nursing and Rehab Center after a brief illness. He was 82.
Charlie was born in Boston. In Charlie’s earlier years he tendered bar for Jimmy Higgins Pub in Dorchester. Later in life he cleaned offices for Feenan Financial Group in Quincy until the age of 80. Charlie proudly served his country in the armed services. Charlie was an avid Boston sports fan and loved collecting lighthouse memorabilia.
Son of the late Samuel J. and Gertrude V. (Ehmons) Raffa. Beloved brother to Joseph Raffa of Weymouth, John Raffa of Gloucester and the late Genevieve Raffa. Father of Patricia Raffa of Stoughton. Uncle of Jenny Raffa Lapointe and her husband, Bernie, of Carver, Donna Welsh and her husband, Walter, of Hanson, Michele Raffa and her partner, Glen Ribeiro of Weymouth, Karen Pratt and her husband, Jim, of Weymouth, David Raffa of Templeton, and the late John Raffa, Jr and Linda Randazza. Great uncle of Kristy and Malissa Pratt of Weymouth and Rob Welsh of Abington.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday from 8:30 – 10:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by his Funeral Services at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
