McDermott, Charles E. of Quincy, formerly of Brighton, December 20, 2008. Husband of the late Patricia A. (Burke) McDermott. Loving father of Patrick McDermott & wife Tracy of Quincy and Chris McDermott & wife Tracey of Abington. Loving “Pop” of Caitlin, Erin, Colin, Adam and Alana. Brother of Kay McGilvary, Frank McDermott, both of Brighton, Jane McDermott of Quincy, Edward McDermott of Hull, and the late James, Bill, John, Joseph & Mary McDermott. Also survived by 57 nieces & nephews and countless grand nieces & nephews. Charlie was a Past Grand Knight of both the North Quincy and Allston Councils of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a former K of C District Deputy and a member of their Cardinal Cushing Assembly of the 4th Degree. An active parishioner of St. Ann Church in Wollaston, Charlie loved golf, Irish music and B.C. Football. He was considered a connoisseur of Quincy fine dining and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Wednesday at 10:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 11 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne Wednesday at 1:30 PM.
