Schuetz, Charles A. of Quincy February 9, 2009. The beloved husband and best friend of 46 years to Kathleen “Kay” (Sandquist) Schuetz of Quincy. He is survived by his two loving children Brian Schuetz and Valerie Schuetz both of Quincy, two grandchildren, Mathew and Nicole Schuetz of Pembroke and his former daughter in law Ruth Schuetz of Pembroke, three brothers and their wives, Jerry of Leon, Kansas, John of Olmstead Falls, Ohio and Ray of Tecumseh, Kansas. Mr. Schuetz was the past CEO of The Corporation for the Sponsored Ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Boston and most recently, the sponsorship consultant for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur of the Ipswich Province. Mr. Schuetz is the past President and Principal for many years of Don Bosco Technical High School in downtown Boston. Appointed by Governor Edward King to the Advisory Board on Vocational-Technical Education, he served as its Chair in 1984. He served as President of the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators Association in 1983-1984 and served a chair of the District H committee of the MIAA for many years. Appointed by Governor Michael Dukakis he was on the Governor’s Committee for drug prevention. Mr. Schuetz was named the Assistant Principal of the Year in 1983, by the Massachusetts Principals Association and Massachusetts Secondary School Administration of the Year in 1993. Mr. Schuetz was born in Horton, Kansas. He continued his schooling in New York, New Jersey and finally Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Thursday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4- 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salesian Society of New Rochelle, NY or to the Sisters of Saint Joseph in Boston in Charlie’s memory.
