Celia Hayes

Hayes, Celia C. formerly of Randolph and North Quincy, died peacefully on June 18, 2008, in her daughter’s home in Bloomington, IN, surrounded by her daughters and sister. Words cannot adequately describe the impact she had on her family. Each of us knew we were totally and completely loved. She infected us with her generous and joyful spirit, her kindness, her optimism, her wisdom and her faith. She was the beloved daughter of the late Alfred and Esther (Dantas) Coelho. She was preceded in death by her brother Tony Coelho and sisters Elsie (Coelho) Leighton, Priscilla Coelho and Judith Coelho. She is survived by her loving sister Marianne (Coelho) Soler of Randolph. Celia was a loving and devoted mother to Amy (Leighton) and Rob Wasserman of New York, Debbie (Leighton) and Bob Lysaght of Florida, and Barbara (Leighton) and Ron Thompson of Indiana. She was adored by her grandchildren, Jason and Angela Wasserman of New York, Gary and Nicole Lysaght of Indiana, Shane and Bryn Wasserman of Minnesota, Deborah (Lysaght) and Patrick Lineberry of Alaska, Patrick and Jasmine Lysaght of Nova Scotia, Joanne (Thompson) and Dave Dark of Indiana, Dustin Wasserman of Minnesota, and Bob Thompson of Indiana. Celia was lovingly known as “Old Nana” to her eight great-grandchildren, Alex and Trent Wasserman of New York, Jett, Trey and Quin Lineberry of Alaska, Mara and Katelyn Lysaght of Indiana, and Addison Wasserman of Minnesota. Her ninth great-grandchild is due to arrive at any moment in Nova Scotia. She was extremely blessed to enjoy wonderful relationships with many of her nieces and nephews. She loved Cheryl Miller of Hingham and Dana Miller of Hull as a daughter and grandson. Celia retired in 2001 from the Dunkin’ Donuts office headquarters. She was a loyal employee for over 32 years and cherished the many friendships she made throughout those years. She played a leadership role in Girl Scouts while her daughters were growing up. She was also active in the Sacred Heart parish while she lived in North Quincy. Celia enjoyed traveling and her greatest joy was visiting and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed weekly outings with her very dear friends. Celia’s funeral service, per her request, will be private. Those who wish to honor her may do so with a memorial donation to Bloomington Hospice, P.O. Box 1149, Bloomington, IN 47402.
